The Importance Of Not Over-exercising Your Puppy

Can exercising your puppy CAUSE problems?

Yes it can! If you have a puppy from us, you know our agreement states that no forced exercise will be given before the age of 2 years old. This means NO jogging with your dog, NO long, extended miles of walking or hiking, and NO ball chasing that is over just a few throws that the pup retrieves and brings it back to you or any other form of exercise that is too much for a youngster.
Dogs and puppies can't tell you when they've had "enough" and will just keep going and going, bringing harm to their skeletal system when the growth plates haven't finished growing and closing. This means you can cause degenerative joint disease in your dog like hip dysplasia, elbow displaysia and Panosteitis just to name a few.
